Eindpresentatie

In week 6 zijn de eindpresentaties van je concept. Je hebt klaar:
- Je einddocument
- Je presentatie
- Je video (geen tekstige animatie!)

Tech groepen hoeven geen video te maken, maar moeten we er wel voor zorgen dat hun applicaties al zo goed mogelijk werken.

PRESENTATIE:

Inhoud

- Toon de prototypevideo van 30/60 seconden waarin je 'fake' laat zien hoe je systeem zou werken.

- Geef vooral inzicht in de werkproces. Welke keuzes heb je gemaakt en op welke bronnen baseerde je die? Hoe veranderde je concept in groepsbesprekingen, na het bekijken van statistische bronnen en na het houden van interviews met je beoogde eindgebruiker? Juist veranderingen in je concept zijn dus interessant. Toon je fouten, daar leren we allemaal van.


Vorm

Zorg voor een overzichtelijke presentatie. Doe aan verwachtingsmanagement ("vertel je publiek wat je gaat vertellen, vertel het, en vertel ze dan wat ze net gehoord hebben"). Hieronder nog enkele tips voor je presentatie:

Each presentation should last about 10 minutes, including the video. Afterwards prepare for 5 minutes of feedback.

To create a good presentation research doing that on the web. Myself, I try to adhere to the following rules:

- Start with a slide with your logo/project name on it. Make people curious.
- Welcome the audience/say hi, and introduce yourself/your team. Introduce means more than just ‘say your name’. Explain you are students studying design, and are exploring ubicomp, and that in this presentation you will give the results of one of your courses.

- Then tell the audience how long your presentation will last and in which parts you have divided it. 

For example “.. and after explaining the concept itself I will go into the concept development proces, and the user testing”. Visually list this on the slide, and introduce new segments of your presentation with the same list with the name of the current segment highlighted. For example:

1. introduction
2. Concept
3. Process and problems
4. User feedback

- Explain in an introduction what you have made and the context around it. This is important to test! Do people get the gist of it? In your case you can use your video for this if you want.
- Next, you can get into the various aspects. Concept development process, difficulties you encountered, choices you made, tests you did, user experience so far, budget, video, etc etc.
- End with a slide that mentions your contact details / where people can find out more
- Thank people for their attention.

Generally:
- Don’t place too much text in your slides. People will read it and forget to listen to you. Only put he essential core concept in, and if that’s not possible just divide the text over multiple slides. Use pictures. Be consistent in visual style.
- Test your presentation. Give it once (in your room) to see how long it lasts approximately. Do it in front of a friend to get feedback on speed, style, and mostly: on whether your point comes across clearly.
